Murg Malaiwala Recipe

How to make Murg Malaiwala

Ingredients

For chicken marination

  • 1/2 kg chicken
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste

For Masala powder

  • 1 tsp peppercorns
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 mace 
  • 5 cloves
  • 4 green cardamom
  • 2 black cardamom
  • 2 cinnamon stick 
  • 1 tsp dry rose petals

For gravy

  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 4 tbsp cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 green chilli finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp Masala powder
  • 1 tsp ginger powder
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • A Pinch saffron
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped almonds
  • 1 tsp kasuri method
  • 1 tsp pepper powder 
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

Method of preparation

  • First let's start with chicken marination, for that take bowl add cleaned chicken, ginger garlic paste, pepper powder mix well and keep it aside for 30 min.
  • Now heat a pan dry roast the Masala ingredients and make a fine powder and keep aside.
  • Now take another Pan add 1 tbsp ghee, chopped onions and green chilli saute until translucent. 
  • Now add cream and mix well. 

  • Add marinated chicken pieces and milk in it. 
  • Now keep in low flame and put the Masala powder, ginger powder, cardamom powder, pepper powder, salt.


  • Cook in simmer for 15 to 20 min.
  • Now the chicken cooked well, add chopped coriander leaves, kasuri methi, pinch saffron powder and give a nice mix.
  • Now again cook in low flame for 5 more min.
  • Now garnish with chopped almonds and serve it hot.
