Rajasthani Laal Maas Recipe

Hello foodies,
Today I am going to show a super spicy Rajasthan dish that is cooked in spicy red gravy. The main ingredient in this recipe is spicy Kashmiri chili and mutton. Rajasthani Laal Maas Recipe. Let's see how to make it.

How to make Laal Maas Recipe

Ingredient 

  • 8 Kashmiri dry red chilies, soaked in water for at least 20 minutes
  • 500 grams Mutton, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup curd 
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder 
  • 2 tsp Coriander Powder 
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder 
  • 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste 
  • 1 tbsp butter and 3 tbsp Mustard oil
  • Brown cardamom 
  • 3 green cardamom 
  • 1 inch Cinnamon Stick 
  • Cloves 
  • 2 Onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala 
  • Salt, to taste
  • Coriander Leaves chopped for garnish

Method of preparation 



  • Take the fresh and cleaned mutton pieces and marinate with ginger garlic paste. Keep it aside.


  • I have soaked red chili in hot water for about 10 min.
  • Now make a fine paste of soaked red chili by adding little water.


  • Now heat a pan add mustard oil and butter once it gets heat to add cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, brown cardamom, and ginger garlic paste. 
  • Add chopped onions and saute it until caramelized. 


  • Now add the marinated mutton pieces and fry them for 10 min.


  • Now add Red chill paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt mix well and add 1/2 cup water. 


  • Cover and cook for about 15 - 20 minutes. 


  • Check whether mutton cooked else cook more until the mutton comes out soft.
  • Now add garam masala powder and mix it.


  • Last and final step add yogurt and mix well.


  • And cover cook again for 10 more minutes. 


  • Now you can see our Rajasthani Laal Maas is ready to garnish it with coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or roti.
  • Spicy Rajasthani Laal Maas is ready.
