Ingredients


  • Milk 1/2 liter
  • Pinch saffron threads
  • 5 tsp sugar
  • Chopped nuts
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder and nutmeg powder

Method of preparation

  • Heat the pan and pour milk .
  • Bring to boil in low heat and stir well  .

  • In between you can see some layer formation in milk .
  • Stir continuously for about  20 min.
  • Now at this stage add saffron threads, sugar, cardomom and nutmeg powder.
  • It should be in a running consistency only.
  • Transfer to a bowl and garnish with chopped nuts and allow it to cool.


Tasty basundi is ready now. This sweet is usually made for Diwali.
