How to make Chettinad Prawn Roast


















Ingredients

  • Prawn 500gm
  • 3 onions finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes finely chopped
  • 1 green chilli chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp chettinad Masala powder / garam masala powder
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • Coriander leaves chopped 
  • Chopped fried coconut ( optional)
  • Handful curry leaves
  • 3 dry red chilli
  • 1/2 to mustard seeds
  • Salt as needed
  • Oil 4 tsp ( coconut oil preferably )

Method of preparation

  • Heat a pan add oil, curry leaves, mustard seeds, dry red chilli.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and saute for 2 min.
  • Now add chopped onions, tomatoes, Green chilli .
  • Saute for 10 min.
  • Now add all the powder listed above and salt as needed, saute for 3 min .
  • Add 3 tsp water, prawn and cover cook for 10 min in low flame.
  • Now cook without lid for 20min in low flame . Cook  until till  it gets dry roast.
  • Garnish with some chopped fried coconuts and coriander leaves.

Tasty chettinad prawn roast is ready . Have with hot steamed rice and rasam.
