How to make Chettinad Prawn Roast
Ingredients
- Prawn 500gm
- 3 onions finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes finely chopped
- 1 green chilli chopped
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp chettinad Masala powder / garam masala powder
- 1/2 tsp chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- Coriander leaves chopped
- Chopped fried coconut ( optional)
- Handful curry leaves
- 3 dry red chilli
- 1/2 to mustard seeds
- Salt as needed
- Oil 4 tsp ( coconut oil preferably )
Method of preparation
- Heat a pan add oil, curry leaves, mustard seeds, dry red chilli.
- Add ginger garlic paste and saute for 2 min.
- Now add chopped onions, tomatoes, Green chilli .
- Saute for 10 min.
- Now add all the powder listed above and salt as needed, saute for 3 min .
- Add 3 tsp water, prawn and cover cook for 10 min in low flame.
- Now cook without lid for 20min in low flame . Cook until till it gets dry roast.
- Garnish with some chopped fried coconuts and coriander leaves.
Tasty chettinad prawn roast is ready . Have with hot steamed rice and rasam.
