How to make it Jalebi Recipe
Ingredients
For Jalebi batter
- 1/2 cup maida flour
- 1 tsp cornflour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp Yellow food colour/ turmeric powder
- 1 tsp curd
- 1/2 tsp vinegar
- 3 tbsp water
- Pinch salt
For sugar syrup
- ¼ cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- ¼ tsp cardamom powder / 3 cardamom pods
For jalebi
- 2 tbsp ghee
- Oil for deep fry
Method of preparation
- Take a mixing bowl add maida, soda powder, salt, cornflour, curd, vinegar, food colour mix well.
- Now add 3 tbsp water little by little and mix the batter in a circular direction.
- Cover and keep aside for 10 min.
- Now take another pan add water, sugar, cardamom and make one string consistency sugar syrup. Keep it aside.
- Pour the batter into a ketchup bottle.
- Heat a pan add oil and ghee for deep fry the jalebi.
- Once the oil gets heat squeeze the bottle and make round spirals with the batter.
- when one side is partly cooked, turn over and fry the other side.
- Fry till the jalebis are a light golden, then immediately drop the fried jalebis in the warm sugar syrup for 30 seconds.
- Serve the jalebi at room temperature.
