Easy Chicken biriyani in pressure cooker

Ingredients

For marinating

  • 1/ 2 kg chicken pieces 
  • 1/2 cup curd
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste 
  • 1 tsp lemon juice 
  • Chopped mint and coriander leaves

For biriyani

  • 2 cup soaked basmati rice
  • 3 cup water
  • 1 cup sliced onions
  • 1 cup sliced tomatoes
  • 2 green chilli 
  • 1 tsp Shahi jeera 
  • 2 tsp ghee

For biriyani Masala

  • 2 green  cardamom
  • 1 black cardamom
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds
  • 2 cinnamon stick
  • 1 bay leaf

Method of preparation

  • Dry roast all the ingredients given for  biriyani Masala and make fine powder of it store in a airtight container.
  • Now take a mixing bowl add all the ingredients given for marinating . Mix all and keep in refrigerator for 5 to 6 hrs.
  • Now heat a pressure cooker add ghee, shahi jeera,  sliced onions and tomatoes saute well till onions gets cooked well.

  • Now add the marinated chicken pieces and add 1 tsp biriyani Masala.
  • Mix well and add 3 cup water and salt as needed.
  • Now add the soaked Basmati rice and mix well.
  • Pressure cook for 2 whistle.

Yummy chicken biriyani is ready now enjoy with curd raita.
