Today am gonna show you another sweet recipe it's elai appam or elai Ada recipe. This appam is a kerala recipe.lets see how to make it .
How to make Elai Appam / Elai Ada recipe
Ingredients
For dough
- Rice flour 2 cup
- Hot water 3/4 cup
- Salt as needed
- Oil
For inner stuffing
- Grated coconut 1 cup
- Grated Jaggery 1 cup
- Cardamom powder pinch
- Plantain leaf ( banana leaf)
Method of preparation
- Heat a pan add water , oil , salt as needed let it start boil at this point add rice flour and mix well . Knead to a dough for with a spatula.
- It should not be very thick . Just like chapati consistency. Set aside.
- Now take blender add grated coconut, jaggery, cardamom powder and whip it once .
- Now the inner filling is ready. Now make small balls of dough.
- I have already cut the leaf in square shape. Now place the dough ball and using your hand gently press it and make a round shape of it .
- Add the filling in center and close it like I have shown in picture .

- Now heat a steamer or idly cooker and steam this Ada for 5 min.
Tasty Elai Ada/ Elai Appam is ready
