Ingredients

  • Urud dal 1 cup ( soak for 1 hr)
  • Rice flour 1 tbsp
  • Rava / Sooji 1 tbsp
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 green chilli finely chopped
  • 1 tsp finely chopped ginger root
  • 1tsp crushed peppercorns
  • Handful curry leaves
  • Salt as needed

Method of preparation

  • Make fine paste of urud dal and  add 2 tsp water mix well . paste should be thick enough.
  • Add chopped onions,green chilli,curry leaves, peppercorns, rice flour , rava , salt in the urud batter and mix well. 
  • Heat pan and add oil in it .
  • Grease water in your hand take vada mix and  make a small round shape and with one finger put a hole in center and put it in the oil.
  • Deep fry it until its color becomes golden.
  • Serve with coconut chutney.
Tasty Medu Vada is ready now enjoy with some coconut chutney and Sambar .
