How to make Amritsari Chicken Masala


Ingredients

For Marination

  • 500gm Chicken
  • 3 tsp Onion, chopped
  • 2 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 4 tsp Curd
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 tsp Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt as needed

For Gravy

  • 2 tsp Butter
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder, chopped
  • 1 tsp Ginger
  • 1 Green Chilli
  • 5 Tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • 3 tsp Butter
  • 3 tsp Cream
  • Salt as needed
  • 1 cup water

Method of preparation

  • First let's marinate the chicken for that a mixing bowl add chicken, ginger-garlic paste, curd, lemon juice, vinegar, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder, salt and chopped onion to the chicken. Mix it thoroughly and keep aside for 2 - 3 hrs.

  • Now let's make the gravy for that heat a pan add butter and red chilli powder saute it for a min.
  • Add coriander powder, cumin powder and chopped ginger to it and saute it well.
  • Add water to the pan and mix well.Add salt, green chilli, tomato and sugar. Mix well.


  • Take butter in another pan and add the marinated chicken and spread it all along the sides of the pan. Mix well and cover cook it for about 10 min. Remove the lid and check if the chicken has turned golden brown.

  • Add the cooked tomato gravy to the chicken and mix well. Cover the pan again and let it cook for 20 min.
  • Now remove the lid and add cream to the gravy.Mix them well.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Tasty Amritsari Chicken Masala is ready now serve hot with Naan or Roti.
