How to make Jeera Rice | Jeera Pulao Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup basmati rice
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 1 onion finely sliced
  • 2 green chilli
  • 2 tbsp jeera/cumin seeds
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 green cardamom
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt as needed
  • 2.5 cups water

Method of preparation 

  • Soak basmati rice for 20 min.
  • Heat a pressure cooker add ghee, bay leaf, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon stick, cumin seeds.
  • Now add sliced onions, green chillies and saute it until translucent.

  • Add soaked rice and saute it for 2 min.
  • Now add salt, water and cook for 2 - 3 whistles.

  • After 3 whistles remove it from the stove and open the lid.
  • Use a fork and fluff the rice and serve it hot with any paneer gravy or gravy of your choice.
