How to make Paneer Dum Biryani
Ingredients
For biryani rice:
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 3 cups water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1cinnamon
- 1 bay leaf
- 3 cloves
- 3 green cardamoms
- ¼ tsp shahi jeera
For paneer marination:
- 200 grams paneer
- 1cup curd
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 2 green chilies finely chopped
- 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
- ½ tbsp chopped mint leaves
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder
- ¼ tsp red chili powder
- ¼ tsp garam masala powder
- ½ tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp lime juice
- salt as required
For paneer biryani layering :
- 3 tbsp fried onions
- 3 tbsp milk
- 10 saffron strands
- 1 tsp ghee
- 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
- ½ tsp chopped mint leaves
Method of preparation
- First let's start with marinating the Paneer for that take a mixing bowl add all the ingredients listed below Paneer marination. Mix well and keep aside.
- Now heat a vessel add water, cinnamon, jeera, cardamom, cloves, bay leaf, salt and basmati rice.
- Once the rice is half cooked drain the water and keep it aside.
- Heat another pan add ghee and Paneer marination cook for 10-15 min.
- Now let's start to layer the Biryani for that take a big vessel with tight lid.
- Grease some ghee and add the Paneer gravy first then add half cooked rice, fried onions, some coriander and mint leaves. Again continue it.
- Last pour some saffron milk and ghee and cover it tightly.
- Now cook this biryani in a low flame for 10 min.
- Serve it hot with onion raita.
