Ingredients 


  • 1/2 kg boneless chicken 
  • 2 cup tomato puree/tomato paste 
  • 1 onion chopped Finely
  • 1/2 tsp julienned ginger
  • 1/2 tsp julienned garlic
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp garam masala 
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp pepper powder
  • 4 tbsp fresh cream
  • Pinch sugar
  • Salt as needed
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 1tsp crushed Kasuri methi leaves for garnish

Method of preparation


  • Take a mixing bowl add chicken pieces, salt, pepper mix well and keep aside.
  • Heat a pan add 1 tbsp butter and add the chicken pieces and cook for 5 min or till it becomes white in colour.
  • Once the chicken is done transfer it to a plate and adds 5 tbsp butter in the same pan.
  • Now add julienned ginger, garlic and chopped onions saute until it cooks well.
  • Now add red chilli powder, garam masala, cumin powder and mix well. Cook for 2 more min.
  • Now add the tomato puree/ paste and add pinch sugar and salt. Cook for 5 min.
  • Now add the chicken piebald give a nice mix to the curry. At this point, you can check the gravy once if you want to add anything you can add at this time.
  • Now add the fresh cream and mix well.
  • Transfer it to a bowl and garnish with crushed kasuri methi leaves.

Tasty butter chicken is ready now enjoy with Naan, fried rice.
