How to make Kaju Pulao | Cashew Pulao


Ingredients

  • 200 gm basmati rice
  • 20 - 30 cashews 
  • 1 big onion sliced
  • 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 2 cloves
  • 1-star anise
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 5 cardamom
  • 1 bay leaf
  • salt as needed
  • 3 tbsp ghee/oil

Method of preparation

  • So first we need to cook the rice separately for that take a vessel add water, cumin seeds, cinnamon, cardamom, bay leaf, star anise, cloves, salt and 1 tsp oil let it boil.
            
  • Now add the soaked basmati rice and let it cook.
  • Once rice cooked drain it and keep aside.
  • On another side heat, a pan adds 3 tbsp ghee, ginger garlic paste and sliced onions saute it until translucent.
  • Now add cashews and saute it until golden brown.
  • Now add the cooked rice and give a nice mix. let it cook on low flame for 5 min.
  • Garnish with some chopped coriander leaves ( optional)
Tasty Cashew Pulao is ready now. serve hot with paneer gravy or with any veg gravy.
