How to make Scotch Egg Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 hard-boiled eggs
- 250 gm minced meat
- 1 tbsp cornflour
- 2 tbsp breadcrumbs + 1 tbsp
- 1 green chilli finely chopped
- 1 tsp paprika powder
- 1 tsp English mustard
- 1 beaten egg
- Salt as needed
- Oil for deep fry
Method of preparation
- Take a mixing bowl add minced meat, flour, breadcrumbs, paprika, salt, green chilli mix well and keep aside.
- Divide mixture into 3 equal portions, and form each portion around each cooked egg to cover completely. Place on a plate and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Place beaten egg and breadcrumbs in separate bowls.
- Working in batches, dip each meat cover eggs in egg mixture then coat each egg in breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and start to deep fry the eggs.
- fry until golden brown and meat is cooked through, it will take about 5 minutes.
- Transfer to paper towels to drain excess oil and serve it hot.
