How to make Crab Masala| Nandu Varuval Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/2 kg fresh and cleaned crabs
- 4 onions finely chopped
- 1 Tbsp coconut finely chopped
- 2 green chili chopped
- Handful Curry leaves
- 1 cup fresh coconut paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp garam Masala powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- Salt as needed
- 3 tbsp coconut oil
Method of preparation
- let's start to prepare the base, for that heat a pan and add 3 tablespoons of coconut oil, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves.
- Add some finely chopped onions, ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, and more curry leaves and saute it until onions get translucent.
- Now add chopped coconut pieces and give a nice mix to it.
- Once it's done add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder, and salt.
- Mix well and cook for 5 minutes.
- Now add the cleaned crabs. Give a nice mix and cover cook for 15 minutes.
- After 15 minutes open the lid and give a nice mix and add fresh coconut paste.
- Now cook in low flame until the water gets evaporated.
- Now add 1 tsp coconut oil and Crab Masala or Nandu Varuval is ready.
