How to make Squid Curry Masala| Nadan Kanava Curry
Ingredients
- 1/2 kg squid | Kanava
- 10 small onions ( pearl onions)
- 1 green chilli sliced
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- A handful of curry leaves
- 1&1/2 tbsp red chilli powder
- 1 tbsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp curry powder ( garam masala powder)
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 2 cups of coconut milk
- Salt as needed
Method of preparation
- First, clean the squids and keep it aside.
- Now take a clay pot to add coconut oil in it.
- Once the oil gets heat to add mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chilli and shallots. Saute it until the onion gets translucent.
- Now add cleaned squid, 1/2 cup water and salt as needed.
- Mix well and cover cook for 10 min.
- Take another pan and dry roast the red chilli powder and coriander powder.
- Now add the roasted powder in squid and mix well again, let it boil for 5 minutes.
- Add curry powder and one cup coconut milk and mix well.
- Now cook it with our lid for 10 minutes.
- After 10 minutes add the remaining coconut milk and check for salt also mix well and cook in low flame for 2 minutes.
- Once the gravy thickens switch off flames and serves it with hot steamed rice.
