Today I am going to share one of my favourite chicken recipe which is Butter Chicken. Butter chicken is basically made with fresh cream and fried chicken. So let's see how to make it.
How to make Butter Chicken Recipe
For Chicken Marinate
- 1/2 kg boneless chicken pieces
- 1 tbsp Kashmiri chilli powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp curry powder
- 1 tbsp oil
- Salt as needed
For Butter Chicken Gravy
- 1 onion sliced
- 1 tomato sliced
- 5 - 10 cashew
- 1/2 inch cinnamon stick
- 2 green cardamom
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1 tbsp crushed Kasuri methi
- Julienned ginger for garnishing
Method of preparation
- Clean the chicken and cut it into small pieces.
- Now add chilli powder, turmeric powder, curry powder and salt. Mix all together and keep it in the grill pan and bake it in the oven for 15 min.
- Meanwhile, let's make the gravy for that, heat a pan add butter, sliced onions, tomatoes, cashews, cardamom, bay leaf, cinnamon stick saute for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Now make a fine paste of this onion-tomato mixture.
- Heat another pan add remaining butter then add red chilli powder and cumin powder.
- Now add the onion paste and mix well.
- Cook for 10 minutes.
- Now add water as much as needed I have added 1/2 cup.
- Now add the baked chicken pieces, salt and pinch sugar and mix well.
- Cover cook for 10 min.
- Now add fresh cream, crushed Kasuri methi leaves and mix well.
- Finally, garnish with ginger slices and serve it hot with paratha, Naan or any bread as your wish.
- Tasty and spicy Butter Chicken is ready.
