Ingredients
- Rava/Sooji/semolina - 1 cup
- Curd- 1/2 cup
- Eno fruit salt- 1 tsp
- Lemon juice - 1/2 tsp
- Ginger(chopped very fine )- 1 tsp
- green chillies(chopped very fine) - 4 nos
- curry and coriander leaves - 1 tbsp
- Water - 1 cup (adjust to consistency)
For temper
- Mustard - 1/2 tsp
- Urad dal (Ullutham paruppu) - 1 tsp
- Channa dal (Kadala paruppu) - 1 tsp
- Cashews - 1 tsp
- ghee - 1 tsp
- Salt - As needed
Method of preparation
- Heat a pan and add ghee ,splutter mustard and add the all items under temper.
- Add the finely chopped ginger and chillies.
- Add the sooji and fry in a low flame ( Color shouldn't change)
- Transfer to a bowl, add curd, water,lemon juice,salt mix well.(the consistency should be like idly batter)
- Add chopped curry leaves and coriender leaves
- Heat the idly cooker and grease with oil
- At this stage add eno to the batter
- pour the batter in cooker and cook for 10 min ( make a tooth pic test ,if it comes out clean idly is ready)
yummy and soft Rava idly ready . Best with Mint chutney , Coconut chutney , Tomato chutney or sambar
