How to make Tomato Pickle Recipe
Ingredients
- 7 chopped tomatoes
- 1/2 cup tamarind juice
- 1 tsp grated jaggery
- 1 tbsp chilli powder ( preferably Kashmiri red chilli powder)
- 1 tsp fenugreek powder
- 1/2 tsp dry roasted and powdered mustard seed
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp asafoetida
- Few curry leaves
- 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
- 2 tbsp gingelly oil
- Salt as needed
Method of preparation
- Take a pan add 1 tbsp oil, chopped tomatoes, tamarind juice, grated jaggery saute it for 2 min. Cover and cook until the tomatoes get mushy.
- Once the tomatoes cooked add fenugreek powder, mustard powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and mix well.
- Cook on low flame for 10 - 15 min.
- Now from the pickle oil starts to release now turn off the heat.
- Take another pan add oil, mustard seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves.
- Now add this mixture to the pickle.
- Once the pickle comes to room temperature store it in an airtight container or in the fridge.
