How to make Kerala Style Tuna Fish Curry | Kerala Style Choora Meen Curry

Ingredients

For Fish Marinating

  • Tuna Fish 1/2 kg
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • Salt as needed

For Coconut Paste

  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • 1 small piece ginger
  • 3 small onion
  • Small pieces tamarind 
  • 1 /4 tsp fenugreek seeds
  • 2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt as needed

For Tempering

  • A handful curry leaves
  • 2 green chilli finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil

Method of preparation

  • Let's start with fish marinating, take a bowl add all ingredients listed in fish marinating. Mix well and keep aside.
  • Now grind all ingredients listed in coconut paste. Make a fine paste and set aside.
  • Heat an earthen pot add coconut oil, mustard seeds,  curry leaves, green chillies. 
  • Now add the coconut paste and 1 cup water mix well and cover cook in medium flame for 10 min.

  • Now add the marinated tuna pieces and swirl the pot and check for salt. If needed add it at this stage.

  • Now cover cook for 10 min in medium flame. Now add 1 tsp coconut oil and switch off the flame. 
  • Serve it hot with Rice Or Kappa.
