How to make Puran Poli
Ingredients
For Wrap:
- Maida 2 cups
- Oil/Ghee 1 tbsp
- Salt as needed
- Water as required
For The Pooranam (Inner Stuffing)
- Chana dal – 1 cup
- Jaggery 3/4 cup
- Cardamom powder 1 tsp
- Coconut 2 tbsp
Method of preparation
- Take a bowl add maida, oil and salt mix all and add water little by little and knead it like chapati dough.
- keep it aside and lets cook the poranam.
- Pressure cook the chana dal for 3 whitsle. Once the pressure release drain the water and keep aside
- Heat a pan add grated coconut and roast it for 3 min.
- Take a blender add cooked chana dal, coconut, cardamom powder, grated jaggery .Blend it well , don't add water in it .
- Now roll the dough in round shape and in center keep the pooranam . Make a ball off it .
- Again roll it carefully in round shape.
- Heat a tawa add the rolled poli and using ghee or oil toast both side of it.
Tasty Puran Poli/Poornam Poli is ready now.
