Today am here to show how to make Falafel. Falafel is traditionally an Arab food. Which is made by chickpeas. Let's see the recipe now.

How to make Falafel Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dry chickpeas ( soak it overnight and pat it with a kitchen towel)
  • 1 small onion, roughly chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 3-5 cloves garlic 
  • 1 1/2 tbsp chickpea flour
  • 2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp paprika powder
  • Pinch of cardamom powder 
  • Salt as needed
  • oil for frying

Method of preparation

  • Pour the chickpeas into a large bowl and add cold water. Let them soak overnight.
  • Drain and rinse the chickpeas well and  Pour them into your food processor along with the chopped onion, garlic cloves, parsley, chickpea flour, salt, cumin, ground coriander, black pepper, paprika powder and cardamom. Pulse all ingredients together until rough, coarse meal forms.

  • Once the mix is ready to transfer it to a bowl and Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1-2 hours.
  • After 2 hrs heat a pan add oil for deep fry.
  • Once the oil heats make small ball shape or pattie shapes and fry the chickpea mixture.
  • Fry them until golden brown colour.
